All the chants for the liturgical chant cycle of Christmas are being published for the first time in Volume 22 _ these are works of the Western Georgian tradition for performing the Christmas service entirely through chant. These hymns are notated by Philimon Koridze, Ekvtime Kereselidze, and Razhden Khundadze. Their notated scores are kept at the Korneli Kekelidze National Center of Manuscripts and the Anzor Erkomaishvili Folklore State Center. Hymns of the complex, gamshvenebuli (ornamented), as well as of the simple styles are shown in the present collection. The absolute majority of these hymns is being published for the first time. Works arranged by anthology editors to various types of original source melodies in accordance with the chant tradition are also included in the collection (for example, heirmois troparia, Psalm verses, etc.).
