On October 24–26, the women’s traditional music ensemble “Ialoni” will travel to Samegrelo. As part of the tour, the ensemble will conduct field expeditions to meet and work with local ethnographers . On October 24, at 19:00, at the Cathedral of the Icon of the Virgin of Blachernae in Zugdidi, a Paraklesis (Supplicatory Service) to the Most Holy Mother of God will be held, performed entirely in chant by Ialoni.

On October 25, at 19:00, at the Zugdidi Municipality Youth Palace, Ialoni will present a Georgian traditional music evening. Performing alongside the ensemble will be Ensemble Artguri, Anne Schaefer, and students of the Zugdidi School of Choirmasters . Attendance is free.

The events are supported by the Ministry of Culture of Georgia, the Anzor Erkomaishvili  Folklore  State Centre, and the Zugdidi Municipality Youth Palace.
