On September 23–25, the women’s traditional music ensemble Ialoni will travel to Guria. As part of the tour, the ensemble will conduct expeditions with local ethnographers.
On September 24, at 18:30, a Georgian traditional music evening by ensemble Ialoni will be held at the concert hall of the Ozurgeti Folklore State Centre . Along with Ialoni, the special guests: Rezo Mzhavanadze, ensemble Rekheuli, ensemble Shemokmedi, students of the Ozurgeti School of Choirmasters and the choir of St. Gabriel the Bishop Parish School will perform before the audience . Attendance is free.
On September 25, at 15:00, a special worship (Paraklesis) dedicated to the Most Holy Virgin Mary will be held at the Church of the Nativity of the Virgin in Likhauri, performed entirely in chant. Together with ensemble Ialoni, the service will feature the participation of choirs from: the Church of the Nativity of the Virgin in the village of Likhauri (Shemoqmedi Diocese), the Church of Sts. Kvirike and Ivlita in the village of Kviriketi, the Church of the Savior in the village of Shemokmedi, the Church of St. Marine in the village of Bakhvi, the Church of Sts. Sophia, Pistis, Elpis, and Agape in the village of Bokhvauri, as well as the girls’ choir of the Ozurgeti School of Choirmasters.
