You are presented with an innovative educational resource — a collection aimed at simplifying the teaching of Georgian polyphonic songs and making them accessible to both Georgian and international performers.
This is an educational sheet-music collection by the ethnomusicologists’ creative group “Nanina,” with audio and video supplements — “Songs from the Repertoire of Ensemble Nanina” – Part 1. The collection includes 20 songs from different regions and genres of Georgia, selected from the repertoire of Ensemble “Nanina.”
What makes this collection particularly unique is its multi-track audio material: each song is presented in its full sound version, with isolated vocal parts and karaoke versions, allowing listeners to become an active part of the living polyphonic performance.
The video recordings accompanying the dance and round-dance songs provide an opportunity to learn them in their traditional performance form.
A publication of this type designed for educational purposes is the first precedent in Georgia and represents a new step in the teaching and popularization of Georgian musical folklore.
